“Practical Japanese Language Teaching”, a symposium, was held on August 28,2004. The purposes for this symposium were to provide training for volunteer Japanese language teachers, as well as, to improve cross-cultural understanding and international exchange in this area. In addition to the report on the training lecture, this manuscript includes the results of the survey I performed about what local volunteer Japanese language teachers expect from the C.I.S.at Mie University
